Meeting the female candidates battling for a seat in Mauritania’s parliament

Mauritania heads to the polls on September 1 to vote in regional, municipal and legislative elections. While female activists have been very involved in campaigning for male candidates, women still struggle to access the political sphere. In Nouakchott, FRANCE 24’s Sarah Sakho met some of the few female candidates running for parliament.
