V. Kamerhe, ally of president Tshisekedi sworn in head of parliament in Dr Congo

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, a president of the national assembly has finally been elected after months of political infighting. The winner, Vital Kamerhe, was subject to an assassination attempt in an attempted coup d’état over the weekend.
