The evolution of jihadi groups in the Sahel, Wagner’s role and consequences for civil populations

Armed Islamist groups have carried out widespread killing, rape and looting in northeast Mali this year forcing thousands of people to flee. This according to Human Rights Watch. They say Russia’s Wagner Group has been implicated in « atrocities » in several African countries, including Mali. FRANCE 24’s terrorism specialist Wassim Nasr tells us more.
