‘Walf will always stand’: anger in Senegal as TV channel suspended

As Senegalese civil society groups on Thursday urged mass action after this month’s presidential poll was deferred to December, outrage is also spreading over the definitive withdrawal of private opposition channel Walf TV’s license. For many, it is yet another sign that freedom of expression is increasingly being threatened under the rule of President Macky Sall.
