But despite the increased funding across multiple sectors aimed at reducing rape and domestic violence, the figures remain just as high. South Africa has one of the highest murder rates for women in the world with 56% of the female victims killed by their own partners. Fewer than half of the country&rsquo;s victims of rape or domestic violence  report the incidents.
